Twitter reacts to Cardinals’ A.J. Green misplay as Rasul Douglas last-second interception secures Packers win
A.J. Green botched the Cardinals’ chance at extending their undefeated season.
The Cardinals’ wide receiver was caught looking around for the ball in the end zone as the Packers’ Rasul Douglas picked off the pass from Kyler Murray with 14 seconds remaining. The interception in the waning seconds on Thursday night solidified Arizona’s 24-21 loss to Green Bay and marked the team’s first loss of the season.

Green was the intended target, but the wide receiver turned the wrong way and didn’t pick up the ball until it was too late. Green Bay’s game-winning pick went viral almost immediately and people found several ways to joke at the Cardinals player’s expense.
Aside from costing the Cardinals their eighth win of the season in Thursday night’s matchup with the Packers, Green made five completions on six targets for 50 yards. DeAndre Hopkins led the Cardinals with 66 yards on two receptions. The Cardinals heavily relied on their run game as running backs Chase Edmonds and James Connor helped put points on the board; Edmonds had seven carries for 30 yards and a touchdown while Connor carried the ball for 22 yards and two touchdowns.

Despite relying on the backfield to move the chains, Murray did complete 22 of 33 passes for 274 yards. He threw two interceptions, including that game-ender to Douglas.
The Cardinals will look to get back in the win column as they are slated to face the 49ers for their Week 9 matchup on Sunday, Nov. 7.
