Twitter started rolling out edit tweet button in these countries – Times of India

Twitter has been testing the edit tweet option for quite sometime now. The company has been promising to roll out the feature soon. Now it appears that the Twitter Blue subscribers can try this much-awaited feature. Twitter has started rolling out the option to edit tweets to the Twitter Blue users in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The company also revealed that the feature will be soon made available to the users in the US.
How the Edit Tweet feature works
Recently, the microblogging platform also shared an example of how an edited tweet will look.
Twitter edited its own tweet and this particular tweet showed ‘Last Edited’ at the bottom of the post. When you click on the ‘Last Edited’ link, you can also see what changes have been made. Both the original tweet and the edited one will have the same ID but the original tweet will have a different URL with “/history” added to the ID.

The ‘Edit Button’ will allow users to fix typos, add missed tags, and more. Users will be allowed to edit the tweets a few times in a 30-minute time frame after they are published. Twitter also says that it will be paying close attention to how the feature impacts the way people read, write, and engage with tweets.
“Tweets will appear with an icon, timestamp, and label so it’s clear to readers that the original Tweet has been modified. Tapping the label will take viewers to the Tweet’s Edit History, which includes past versions of the Tweet. For context, the time limit and version history play an important role here. They help protect the integrity of the conversation and create a publicly accessible record of what was said,” mentions Twitter.
When will Twitter Edit button come to India
The Twitter Edit Button will be a paid feature. This means that it will be available only to Twitter Blue subscribers. Twitter Blue is an opt-in, paid monthly subscription that offers exclusive access to premium features such as the undo tweet. It was launched in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. And since Twitter Blue is not in India, Twitter users in the country will also not get the Edit Button.
