Twitter tests new options for its Status feature: What this means for users – Times of India

Twitter started testing the Status feature with a few users in July. When enabled, this feature allows users to categorise tweets under different labels. Users who can test this feature can also click on the status labels tagged to a particular tweet to find a list of other tweets that are also categorised under the same tags.
A user who is also involved in testing the feature has recently shared some photos to show the new Twitter Status options that the company has added to the micro-blogging site. Jane Manchun Wong has uploaded some images of the latest status options that Twitter Status is now reportedly testing.

New Twitter Status options added
The images tweeted by Wong show that apart from existing options (like “Spoiler Alert” and “Hot Take”), multiple new phrases have started appearing as new Status options. Twitter has added some common phrases (slang) as new status options which include — “That’s it, that’s the Tweet,” and “Don’t @ me.”

What it means for Twitter users
Twitter’s Status option feature can become more helpful if the company decides to make it available for more users and retains these newly added tweet-tagging options. Currently, users can find very few tweets that appear with these status options.
However, if this feature is made available to more people and the new options are maintained, users can tag their tweets under specific categories without having to add these phrases and can ensure optimum usage of the limited character count.

Earlier, the company confirmed that Twitter Status has a time limit and only a few users can currently access it.
