Twitter: Twitter to allow a ‘Super Follow’ button, other new features: Report – Times of India

Microblogging platform Twitter may allow a paid, ‘Super Follow’ button on the profiles of its users soon, as per a report by 9To5Mac that’s based on the findings of the researcher Jane Manchun Wong as the feature seems to have appeared on her profile. Twitter last week teased that it was going to make some changes to the profile pages of individuals on the platform.
As per the report, the Super Follow button can appear in two designs, either as a small, circular button or a big one. Twitter might also reportedly show a cash button for tipping, a feature that’s been named Tip Jar. Upon activating the Tip Jar feature, its icon will appear next to the Follow button on the profile page of the user. Tap the icon and a list of payment services or platforms that have been enabled in the account will open. As per Twitter, you can “Select whichever payment service or platform you prefer and you’ll be taken off Twitter to the selected app where you can show your support in the amount you choose. “
The colour scheme could also undergo some changes with probable plans of making it more monochrome and using the “Chirp” font.
As per other reports, Twitter is also planning to monetise Spaces, its Clubhouse rival by launching a feature called Ticketed Spaces with the help of which users can host paid live audio rooms. The social media platform will test the feature out with a small group of people over the coming weeks, as per a report by The Verge. To be eligible to host Ticketed Space, you should be at least 18 years old, have an account with at least 1000 followers, and should have hosted 3 Spaces in the last 3 days, claims the report.
