Tyson admits ‘I wish I kicked his a**’ as he opens up on plane brawl
Mike Tyson was “high, hungry, and tired” when he punched an antagonistic fan during a flight in April. The troublesome passenger was videoed repeatedly provoking Iron Mike before the former heavyweight champion of the world turned around and landed a few short right hands to the side of his head.
Tyson claims the man threw a bottle of water on him after he was initially happy to converse and take pictures. Luckily for the fan, Tyson’s bodyguard was there to intervene as he dived on top of him and shielded him from further punishment.
But Tyson has admitted he wished he had ‘kicked his a**’ for the trouble he caused. Explaining the situation during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, he said: “By the time I’m on the plane I’m high, hungry and tired. This guy keeps antagonising me and then I came to my senses and kicked his f***ing ass!
“I’m only joking. I wish I did kick his a**! I didn’t kick his a**. But my bodyguard jumped on top of him, and I was hitting my bodyguard! For which I’m sorry. That guy was just an irritant really. He hit me with a water bottle.”
Tyson made a surprise return to the ring in 2020 after 15 years out of competition to face fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout. The contest ended in a draw and after its conclusion, Tyson affirmed that he would be open to fighting again in the not-so-distant future. However, the 56-year-old has not fought since then.
