Here are some highlights of U.S. broadcast coverage for Monday night, including women’s gymnastics, women’s soccer, softball medal games and the men and women’s surfing finals. All times are Eastern.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL April Ross and Alix Klineman of the United States, who won their first match against China over the weekend, take on Spain in a pool play match from Shiokaze Park on CNBC at 8 p.m.
GYMNASTICS NBC Primetime will air the men’s gymnastics team final at 8:30 p.m. The U.S. men haven’t won a medal at the Olympics since they finished third at the 2008 Beijing Games.
WATER POLO CNBC will carry the men’s water polo game against South Africa at 9 p.m.
SWIMMING NBC will carry men’s and women’s swimming finals in events including the men’s 200 meter freestyle, the men’s and women’s 100-meter backstroke and the women’s 100-meter breaststroke, all starting at 9:30 p.m. After losing the 400-meter freestyle to Ariarne Titmus of Australia, Katie Ledecky will attempt to win gold in the 200-meter freestyle.
TENNIS Frances Tiafoe of the United States faces Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece in the second round of men’s singles, starting at 10 p.m. on the Olympic Channel. Following the match, the Olympic Channel will also air the third round matches of women’s singles and the quarterfinals in men’s and women’s doubles.
BASKETBALL USA Network will carry the women’s game against Nigeria at 12:40 a.m.
