Ubisoft Creative Director’s Tweet Teases Early Testing for Upcoming Star Wars Title; Massive Dev Could Monetise Upcoming Titles

If you were living under a rock, then you probably do not know that Ubisoft has announced that it is collaborating with LucasFilm, Disney and Massive Entertainment. This collaboration is taking place for a new story-driven open-world video game set in the Star Wars galaxy.

The game itself will be headed by Massive Entertainment, which is the studio that is also working on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The game will be developed by some of the most experienced professional in the industry, in tandem with Massive’s cutting edge technology, which includes the Snowdrop engine.

Recently, a Creative Director at Ubisoft, Julian Gerighty tweeted something that has caught the attention of Star Wars fanatics. On the occasion of the New Year, Gerighty stated that 2023 would be huge for the developers, and that fans should join their adventure. This tweet was posted with an image of the Star Wars project.

Later on, he realised that his tweet had gone viral because of which, he had to clarify that 2023 is going to be a huge year for the teams that are working on the game. However, many have felt that Gerighty’s tweet teases early testing for the game that could arrive in 2023.

On the topic of the Star Wars project, it seems Massive Entertainment, the lead developer on the game has posted a job listing for the role of Monetization Specialists.

The new job listing has concerned fans, as the next two games from Massive Entertainment are the Star Wars Project and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Many believe that these titles can become a victim to monetization. In the end, we will just have to wait and see how these specialists end up monetizing these highly anticipated titles.
