UCLA trolls LSU’s Ed Orgeron over ‘Sissy Blue’ comment with new Twitter header

Ed Orgeron presumably thought he was being funny when he entered the Rose Bowl on Saturday and was caught on camera taking a jab at a UCLA fan about the team’s colors, specifically the shade of blue worn by the Bruins.

As the video cirulated social media, UCLA fans immediately picked up on Orgeron’s comments and took them to heart.

The fan who exchanged words with the LSU coach was David Witzling, who was making a reference to comments Orgeron made about UCLA during his time as a coach at USC in 2013.

“Come Saturday night, we’re gonna let those little boys from across town into our stadium and we’re gonna lock the gates,” Orgeron said prior to the Trojans’ matchup with the Bruins at the time.

Witzling said something similar and reminded Orgeron of his remarks, which led to Orgeron’s comments about the “sissy blue shirts.”

Ultimately, Witzling and UCLA, whose shade whose official shade of blue is “UCLA Blue,” got the last laugh.

The exchange between the two went viral, as did LSU’s 38-27 loss at the hands of UCLA, which gave the team license to add insult to injury and update its Twitter header accordingly, taking Orgeron’s comments in stride.

UCLA’s win was the second of Its season, giving the Bruins a 2-0 record to start the season, their best start since Kelly’s arrival and the third ranked win of Kelly’s UCLA tenure.
