Unannounced Nothing Phone pops up in BIS listing

Unannounced Nothing Phone pops up in BIS listing

A few days ago, a tipster on X (formerly Twitter) pointed towards an upcoming Nothing Phone bearing model number A142. Turns out the phone just got listed on India’s BIS signaling an imminent launch in the country (among others).

The unannounced phone carrier model number A142 is similar to the original Nothing Phone (A063) and Nothing Phone 2 (A065). It comes paired with a new battery with model number NT03. Unfortunately, the details on the BIS listing are scarce which means we aren’t aware of the actual moniker for the device. However, this isn’t the first time A142 has appeared in leaks. It is often associated with an upcoming budget-friendly phone carrying the moniker Nothing Phone 2a.

As the name suggests, the phone is likely to follow in the footsteps of Nothing Phone 1 with its Glyph interface. An image showing the purported Phone 2a can be seen below showing the dual camera setup with a Glyph interface.

Talking about the specs, reports suggest Nothing Phone 2a will pick up a 6.7” AMOLED panel with a centrally-placed punch-hole cut-out for the front camera. That’s all we know about the aforementioned Phone 2a at the moment.

London-based Nothing launched its successor Nothing Phone 2 in India on July 11 starting at INR 39,999/-. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 45W fast charging, and a 4700mAh battery onboard. It was a major upgrade over the original Nothing Phone that arrived with a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC.
