Unrecord’s Hyper-Realistic Early Footage of Gameplay Revealed
A footage from a new indie game in the making has left viewers bamboozled, questioning if it’s at all real footage or pre-rendered. So much so, that the developer had to share some behind-the-scenes footage of the game in development. This is an upcoming FPS shooter, Unrecord, from indie developers, Drama. Here’s more on the latest developments around this game, and another specimen of the wonders that Unreal Engine 5 is capable of.
About Unrecord
Unrecord is an FPS shooter that shows gameplay from the perspective of a body camera. You play as a tactical police officer working a complex case. The developers, Drama launched an early gameplay footage of the game on April 19, which sparked a lot of debates on the internet. Some argued that it was a video that was shot in real life, which some others believed that it was pre-rendered. The footage in the trailer was so realistic that people debated how it was possible to have reached such levels of hyper-realism.
A day later, developer and co-director of Unrecord, Alexandre Spindler, revealed some behind-the-scenes of the game in development, on Unreal Engine 5. He captioned the Twitter post, “For those who thought Unrecord was fake or a video, sorry.”

Unrecord- Launch and Platform details
Fans asked the developers on the Q&A page of the game on Steam, if it was slated for a VR release, given its bodycam first-person perspective, and hyper-realistic graphics. The developers cleared the air, and said that “the game footage is captured from an executable and played using a keyboard and mouse. It is not a VR game.”
Unrecord still does not have a release date or a window, but here’s a game that has been creating ripples for all the right reasons.
