Manhatten is also promising smarter search which should make it easier to find the things you like watching, a simplified user interface, an improved TV guide and a new remote with a sleek, organic design.

The boxes are fully Ultra HD HDR compatible so you’ll be able to watch movies and programmes in pin-sharp definition

The T4 range includes all the most popular free-to-view services including ITVX, My 5, iPlayer and UK TV Play apps.

The main difference between the T4 and T4•R are the price and features.

If you opt for the basic T4 model you’ll pay just £69.99 when it launches in early 2024.

However, this box doesn;t offer pause or rewind functionality or the option to record anything. If you want those bonus extras you’ll need to switch things up to the T4•R.

This £169.99 set-top box lets you store 1200 hours of shows, movies and sporting action along with ability to record two programmes while you watch a third.

Pause, rewind and fast forward is also available so you can stop watching live TV to make a tea and continue from where you left off.

Of course, once you’ve splashed out on these devices there are now subscription fees to pay with all Freeview content totally free to watch.

There’s no official release for the T4 boxes with Manhatten simply saying they will arrive in early 2024.
