URLs and YouTube channels blocked since December 2021 under Section 69A of IT Act by the government – Times of India

The government issued directions to block public access to 635 URLs since December 2021 for publishing fake news and content not found to be in the interest of sovereignty and integrity of the country, the Rajya Sabha was informed. These blocked URLs include 120 YouTube-based news channels.

The websites in question had published content not found to be in the interest of sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of the State, friendly relations with foreign States or public order or for preventing incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence relating to the above, including fake news, in accordance with the provisions of Section 69A of the Information Technology Act,” said Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur in a written reply to the house.
What is Section 69A of Information Technology (IT) Act

The Section 69A of Information Technology (IT) Act empowers the Centre to issue directions to any government agency or an intermediary to block content in the interest of sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of the state, friendly relations with foreign states or public order or for preventing incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence relating to such matters.
Since June 2020, the government of India has banned 150-plus Chinese apps under the Section 69A of Information Technology (IT) Act. The apps banned include some TikTok, PUBG, Meitu, Baidu, Legend: Rising Empire NetEase Games, Camscanner, UC Browser, WeChat and more.
Betting games ad banned
In reply to a separate question, Thakur said that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had issued advisories in 2022 and Aoril 2023 to print, electronic and digital media to refrain from publishing advertisements of online betting platforms or their surrogate products/services. He said that the government takes appropriate action whenever a specific violation in this regard comes to the notice of the ministry.
