Videos will now look better on Twitter after this update – Times of India

Twitter now allows users to upload and watch videos in better quality. The issue of pixelated videos has been long-running for the users now. The social media giant unfolded the news about the update on its support handle. “Some good news: we’ve made updates to improve video quality. Starting today, videos you upload to Twitter will appear less pixelated for a better watching experience.” the tweet stated.

As reported by The Verge, Twitter has removed a pre-processing step in its video pipeline during upload. The removed step used to divide videos into smaller sections for ingestion. The additional processing used to hamper the quality of the video.
App researcher Jane Manchun Wong also suggests that Twitter is working on video playback speed options. According to the image shared by her, the platform can soon have 4 video playback speed options – 0.5x speed, Normal, 1.5x speed and 2x speed.
The company recently also added a new feature to Spaces which allows hosts to tag their Spaces with up to three topics. Currently only 10 topics are available to choose from – finance, music, sports, technology, arts-culture, home-family, careers, gaming, world news and business.
Additionally, the company is also planning to introduce recording and replays features to Spaces. This new feature will likely give Spaces an edge over Clubhouse.
Last week, the company also announced that it is working to fix disappearing tweets. The issue has been bugging users for a while now as the tweets suddenly disappear from the view because the app refreshes. Twitter has acknowledged the issue and shared an update from its support account. “Let’s talk about Tweets disappearing from view mid-read when the timeline seems to auto-refresh. We know it’s a frustrating experience, so we’re working on changing it. Over the next two months, we’ll be rolling out updates to the way we show you Tweets so they don’t disappear.” the tweet read.
