Viral chatbot ChatGPT will soon get a premium version: Here’s what it may offer – Times of India

It was on November 30 when OpenAI, an AI research firm, rolled out ChatGPT. It hardly took a few days for the AI chatbot to go ‘viral’ and suddenly it was quite the talk of tech town. Since then, reports of Microsoft investing $10 billion have been doing the rounds. However, it looks like the days of using ChatGPT — at least at its full capacity — for free may soon be over.
According to a report by TechCrunch, the company announced that a paid version of the chatbot may soon be launched. OpenAI made the announcement on its Discord server and the paid version will be called ChatGPT Professional.

What features will the paid version of ChatGPT offer?

OpenAI has shared a Google form which is also the waitlist for professional ChatGPT service. OpenAI says that ChatGPT Professional (experimental) is “geared towards professional use”. Some of the features include fast responses from ChatGPT, no blackout windows, and as many messages as you need (at least twice of regular daily limit).

OpenAI also clearly states that if you are selected, it will reach out to you to set up a payment process and a pilot. “Please keep in mind that this is an early experimental program that is subject to change, and we are not making paid pro access generally available at this time,” stated the company.
In the Google form, there are quite a few questions related to how much users will be willing to pay for ChatGPT Professional. For example, one of the questions is “At what price (per month) would you consider ChatGPT to be so expensive that you would not consider buying it?” Similarly another question “At what price (per month) would you consider ChatGPT to be a bargain—a great buy for the money?”
It’s not clear when the ChatGPT Professional will be made available and at what cost.
