Virgin Media offers you the ultimate discount but BT might have something even better

If your broadband feels a little sluggish then now could be a very good time to make the switch to Virgin Media. The Internet Service Provider (ISP) has launched a deal that is offering its best possible Gig1 speeds at its lowest ever price. That means you can whizz files and films into your home at speeds in excess of 1,000Mbps – that’s around 14 times faster than the current UK average.

What makes this deal even better is that Virgin recently announced that all of its 15 million fibre customers can now access these blisteringly quick downloads without needing to upgrade the cables outside of their homes.

If you have Virgin’s service in your street and want to sign up then you haven’t got long before the offer ends with it only running until Sunday 6 February.

The low price lasts for 18 months and would usually set you back £62 per month meaning there’s a saving of £100 to be made.

So, that’s the new deal from Virgin but before you sign up it’s worth checking out what BT has to offer.

The popular ISP is currently offering its 900Mbps speeds for £27.49 per month – that’s half the usual cost. This cut-price deal lasts for the first three months of the contract with things then rising to £54.99 per month.

BT is also throwing in a year of Xbox Games Pass for free which is an offer worth over £100.

Although the initial discount only lasts a few months, if you do the sums you’ll soon see why this BT deal works out cheaper over a two-year period.

It is worth noting that BT’s best speeds are only available in around five million UK homes so Virgin definitely has bragging rights when it comes to availability.
