The Volvo C40 Recharge will rival the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Kia EV6 as well as some other ICE-powered coupe SUVs such as Audi Q3 Sportback and Mercedes GLC coupe. Thus the Volvo C40 Recharge can be expected to be priced around the Rs 60 lakh mark in India.
The automaker has promised that the Volvo C40 Recharge electric SUV will be launched in August and the company will begin taking bookings right after. Deliveries will begin September onwards.

Exterior
- The Volvo C40 Recharge electric SUV gets a coupe-like design with a sloping roofline and a completely redesigned rear styling. The C40 Recharge gets a new sporty-looking rear end with two spoilers.
- The Volvo C40 Recharge carries other Thor’s hammer style LED DRLs and sporty yet minimalistic front fascia.
- It also wears a set of large diamond-cut alloy wheels and also gets blacked-out body cladding for the SUV look.
Interior
- The interiors are borrowed from the Volvo XC40 Recharge and are familiar with Swedish design with rich-looking materials. The interiors are also leather-free.
- The C40 Recharge gets a 9-inch touchscreen display mounted in portrait mode and runs on an Android-based system and supports Google Maps, Assistant and several apps from the PlayStore.
- Features on the Volvo C40 Recharge include a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera, a full suite of sensor-based ADAS tech with autonomous driving, connected car tech, powered front seats with driver-side memory function and heating and cooling, dual-zone climate control and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.
- Due to the coupe-like sloping rear-end design, the Volvo C40 Recharge loses out a little on the boot space as compared to its sibling and has 413 litres of storage.
Powertrain
- The Volvo C40 Recharge is based on the CMA platform (Compact Modular Architecture) and gets a dual motor set-up.
- The C40 Recharge will use the same 78kWh battery pack and claims to deliver 530km of range on a single charge. The battery pack can be recharged from zero to 100 percent in 33 minutes via a 150kW DC fast charger.
- The electric motors combined produce 408hp of peak power and 660Nm of peak torque.
