Warzone: Call of Duty Warzone gives players a hack to deal with hackers – Times of India
The Damage Shield will automatically deploy when the game server detects a hacker using some kind of cheat in the game in real time. As per the developers, the Damage Shield will not deploy randomly or accidently in the game, in case you are worried about that. Upon discovering the cheater, the server will then disable his/her ability to inflict critical damage upon the player. It is not exactly about banning the hackers but making their life miserable in the game at least. Additionally, the Ricochet anti-cheat measure will also collect information about the hacker’s system when it detects them tampering with the in-game settings.
YouTuber TimTheTatman has given a demonstration of this in-game addition.
“To be clear, we will never interfere in gunfights between law-abiding community members. Damage Shield is now out of testing and deployed across the globe,” said the developers in a blog post.
Activision has warned players about violating the security policy of the game. “Going forward, extreme, or repeated violations of the security policy — such as in-game cheating — may result in a permanent suspension of all accounts.”
The game developer also cautioned players not to try and “hide, disguise, or obfuscate” their identity or the identity of their hardware devices as it may also result in a permanent suspension.
