WATCH: Mohammad Siraj’s verbal spat with Phil Salt | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Mohammed Siraj lost his cool during his team’s IPL 2023 clash against Delhi Capitals. Both Siraj and DC batsman Phil Salt were involved in a heated exchange.
The incident happened in the penultimate over of the Powerplay during Delhi Capitals’ run chase.
Salt, who was in sublime touch, hit Siraj for two sixes and a four on the trot, which rattled the RCB pacer.

A disappointed Siraj bowled a short-pitched delivery to Salt that was called a wide by the umpire.
The 29-year-old Siraj wasn’t happy with the umpire’s decision as he approached Salt and gave the batter a mouthful.

Delhi Capitals captain David Warner tried to act as a peacemaker, but Siraj was in no mood to listen to his first IPL captain and also gave him the same treatment. The pacer was also seen making some gestures, asking Salt to keep quiet.

“I spoke before the game about being positive. We knew the wicket was slow and low, and we spoke about playing off the backfoot. I thought 180 was par, I felt we would have to bat really well to get there. (On Mitch Marsh) He came in and hit the second ball for six or something like that, it put bowlers on the backfoot. Loving the support, specially here in Delhi,” Salt said during the post match presentation.
