WATCH: Trent Boult takes a stunning catch off his own bowling to dismiss Prabhsimran Singh | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: In a breathtaking display of athleticism, Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Trent Boult showcased his incredible fielding skills as he took a stunning sharp catch off his own bowling to dismiss Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Prabhsimran Singh in an IPL match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala on Friday.
The incident happened as early as in the second ball of the innings when Boult delivered a tantalising length ball that subtly swung back in, leaving Prabhsimran uncertain in his shot selection. With a hesitant chip towards the bowler’s end, Prabhsimran had no idea what was coming next. However, Boult, displaying extraordinary reflexes and agility, lunged to his right, soaring through the air, and plucked the ball in his follow-through.

The disbelief on PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan’s face mirrored the astonishment felt by all witnessing the extraordinary catch, while Prabhsimran (2) trudged back to the dugout.
The crowd erupted in awe as the 33-year-old Kiwi player maintained his composure and balance while completing the catch.
Earlier, RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and put PBKS into bat in their final IPL league match. In an unfortunate turn of events, star off-spinner R Ashwin was forced to miss out on the game due to a back spasm.

Ashwin’s absence forced RR to make several changes in their playing XI. Among the inclusions were Riyan Parag, Trent Boult, and Navdeep Saini.
However, these changes also meant that players like Joe Root, Dhruv Jurel, and Ashwin were left out for this particular match.
