What Steven Gerrard has said on his future amid Aston Villa manager links
Steven Gerrard’s reputation as Rangers manager has gone from strength to strength since his appointment, with the Liverpool legend winning accolades galore across a three-year spell. His successes have seen him linked with the vacant Aston Villa job, although certain quotes from Gerrard’s past give contrasting views on his future.
Having stopped Celtic’s ten-in-a-row surge and scalping many European outfits along the way, the 41-year-old has impressed heavily in his first senior managerial role.
Although he has been linked elsewhere in the past, there has never been speculation as intense as the move touting him with a switch to Villa.
Despite Gerrard stating he is happy at Rangers, reports believe there is a feeling he would move away from Ibrox to take on a role in the Premier League.
But past quotes make the move seem in the balance.

“If I stay at Rangers for another two, three or four years I am okay – it means I am doing something right and happy.
“I am in no rush to try and jump, I am not looking over the fence at anything. I am proper content.”
It remains to be seen if a deal to take Gerrard to Villa could be done, although a huge transfer budget and Rangers’ poor financial records mean that he could be tempted to carve out a legacy for himself.
