WhatsApp ‘Block shortcut’ feature: Here’s how it will work – Times of India

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new ‘Block’ shortcut feature that will allow users to block the contact using a shortcut right within the notifications.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the company is working on introducing this feature, but in a different manner. The feature will appear only if a WhatsApp user receives a message from an unknown and untrusted contact.
At times, it may happen as users might tap on the block feature mistakenly when replying to notifications to their saved contacts. The feature is likely to save time without opening the conversation, and blocking unwanted contacts will be easier and faster than before.

The new shortcut is expected to be released in the upcoming updates of the application.
It was also reported that WhatsApp was working on a shortcut right within the chat option in the chat list to quickly block a contact.
According to a previous report by WABetaInfo, the Block shortcut feature on WhatsApp will allow users to block a contact right within the chat list without opening the respective chat. The company is working on releasing version 2.23.2.4 for WhatsApp. The report further added that WhatsApp is working on adding the Block feature within chats for the future update of the app.

WhatsApp ‘Message Yourself’ feature
WhatsApp in its most recent update added a new feature–‘Message Yourself’– that allows users to communicate with themselves just like they would with anyone else. The feature was initially rolled out in beta version, but it is now accessible to both iOS and Android users. The new feature is very useful because it allows WhatsApp users to send notes, reminders, and updates to just themselves. In addition to this, users can send photo, video, audio, and document sharing from the gallery or file manager directly from their phone to chat. To use the feature, you are required to follow these steps:
