Whatsapp Business: WhatsApp Business app on iPhone may soon receive this feature – Times of India

Meta-owned popular instant messaging service WhatsApp is available on various platforms including Android, iOS and the web. The company keeps adding new features to the messaging platform to attract more users and take on rival apps like Telegram. Mobile users are offered two different versions of the app — a normal WhatsApp app and another WhatsApp Business app. According to a report by WAbetaInfo, the company has recently submitted a new update (version 23.5.0.75) through the TestFlight beta Program on iPhones. With this new update, WhatsApp is planning to introduce the Communities feature on its Business app. The company has also started testing this feature with a handful of beta testers and the option is expected to become available for more users with an upcoming update. The Communities feature is currently under development for the business version of the app.
How will this feature help WhatsApp Business users on iPhone
WhatsApp Business beta testers on Android can already create and manage communities. With this feature, WhatsApp Business users on iPhones will also be able to do the same. This feature is currently available for iPhone users through the TestFlight app. WhatsApp is excepted to make the Communities feature available for more Business users with an upcoming update.
How will Communities work on WhatsApp Business on iPhone
The report has shared some screenshots to explain how the Communities feature will work on WhatsApp Business on iPhone. As per the screenshots, WhatsApp is planning to add a new entry point for Communities within the app’s settings. To add the Communities option, WhatsApp might not remove the business tools tab that was introduced in 2022.
This feature will help businesses to access the list of all the communities they have joined in the past. This will include their subgroups and community announcement groups as well. Moreover, just like the Communities section available on the regular app, WhatsApp Business users will also be able to create new communities.
