WhatsApp reportedly starts to roll out this useful voice note feature – Times of India

After rolling out a global voice note player for iOS users in the beta program, WhatsApp is now reportedly working on a new feature for the web users. As per a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started to roll out a new feature that allows users to pause and resume voice recordings. The feature is only available to WhatsApp web users who are enrolled in the beta program. Previously, the WhatsApp web beta users had the feature to listen to voice notes before sending them. The new update is said to be an addition to that feature.
As of now, you only get the option to delete or send the voice note once you start recording. The platform also does not allow you to hear a voice note before sending. The new feature will be helpful for sharing longer recordings and it will also save time for the users as they do not have to re-record a voice note in case of some disruption. According to the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, with the update, you will be able to see a new pause button at the place of the stop icon. The new button will allow you to pause the recording. Once you pause the recording, you will also be able to hear the voice note and continue the recording if you wish to add more. The feature is already available for iOS users and it is expected that it will be available to more users with the coming updates.
As mentioned above, WhatsApp also recently released a global voice note player for iOS users in the beta program. The new feature allows users to listen to a voice note in the background even if they swipe back or move to a different chat. Currently a voice message stops when a user leaver a particular chat or returns to the chat list.
