WhatsApp rolled out security centre globally
WhatsApp has recently launched a global Security Center to cater to its user base, offering a comprehensive platform with valuable resources and insights into safety measures and product functionalities. The aim is to empower users to protect themselves from unwanted contact and spam messages. The Security Center will be available in English and ten Indian languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu.
With the introduction of the Security Center, WhatsApp aims to educate users about the range of privacy settings available within the app, providing them with knowledge on how to exercise greater control over their accounts. This informative hub covers various features such as two-step verification, protection against scams, and enhanced group controls.
The decision to establish the Security Center came after reports from users who encountered spam calls originating from unfamiliar foreign numbers.
