WhatsApp starts testing ‘message yourself’ feature for desktop in beta – Times of India

WhatsApp has already rolled out the‘ message yourself’ feature on the stable version of the app on Android and iOS devices. Now, it appears that the company is planning to bring the same feature to the desktop version of its app as well. WABetaInfo has reported that the company has already started testing the ‘message yourself’ feature on desktop.
For those unaware, the message yourself feature allows users to quickly open their personal chat and save important information such as texts, voice notes, photos, videos, reminders, etc.
WhatsApp message yourself feature is coming to desktop
As per the report, the WhatsApp beta for Windows version 2.2248.2.0 update includes the new message yourself feature. The beta version is now available to download via Microsoft Store. However, it is currently available for only a select group of WhatsApp beta users.
WhatsApp added the personal chat option in the previous beta releases. However, that was inaccessible. Finally, after the latest update, personal chat is now accessible and users can use the feature right from WhatsApp’s beta app on Windows.
The message yourself feature is far more important as a feature for Windows and other linked devices as it allows users to directly take a note while using their PC or tablet.
How the feature works on Windows
The message yourself feature on desktop is essentially the same as the mobile version. The only difference is in regards to the user interface difference between the mobile and desktop versions. All users have to do is look for their own personal chat (You) chat under the new chat windows and open it. Once the chat window is open, it can be used to take notes, share files, documents, photos, etc. Also, once you’ve opened the chat, it remains under the chat list unless deleted manually.
