WhatsApp has been testing several new features in the beta version. The company recently updated the native Windows 11 app with new features like drawing, emoji reactions and more. Now, the company has started testing a new gallery view for the app, according to WABetaInfo’s report.
The new gallery view is rolling out with WhatsApp Beta for Windows version 2.2227.2.0. The same update also includes the ability to reply even when the app is closed.
What’s new with the gallery view
According to the screenshot posted by WABetaInfo, the redesigned gallery view on WhatsApp Beta for Windows appears to be similar to the regular WhatsApp desktop client, the one that’s based on WhatsApp Web.
The image shows that the multiple images open in a carousel format which makes it easier for users to navigate between them. Furthermore, WABetaInfo has also claimed that the updated gallery view is very stable and some testers have reported some performance improvements with the latest update.
The beta update is now rolling out to select users via Windows Store.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also testing ‘bulk-enable’ disappearing mode for chats in beta. This feature allows users to select multiple chats and enable the disappearing messages option at once.
