WhatsApp users now get more time to delete sent messages – Times of India

The ability to delete an unwanted message or something you sent to someone by mistake on WhatsApp has been a welcome feature. Now, WhatsApp is giving users more time to delete sent messages. According to a tweet by the official WhatsApp account, users will have two days to delete messages after they have sent them. “Rethinking your message? Now you’ll have a little over 2 days to delete your messages from your chats after you hit send,” the tweet reads. In fact, users will have 2 days and 12 hours to delete any message after they have sent it, as per multiple online reports.

Earlier, this limit was restricted to close to 68 minutes. Apple is also set to introduce a similar feature in iMessage. However, while WhatsApp has increased the delete message limit, Apple — in the beta versions of iOS 16 — started with 15 minutes limit but now has reduced it to two minutes. It will be interesting to see how the feature is implemented when iOS 16 is rolled out to all users later this year.
