The feature lets users easily forward any picture, video, and GIF they receive from one account to another. However, these forwarded messages could only include original text captions. But this feature will get changed with a future update of the app.
WABetaInfo first spotted the new version of WhatsApp Beta, including the feature to forward media-bearing messages with text captions. However, this feature is still under testing and is reportedly available to a selected number of users.
However, this is good news for all WhatsApp users because the feature in testing will be released in a matter of time. The new update will allow you to share images, videos, and GIFs, with added captions, but the presence of a text box in the UI also suggests users may be able to make quick changes to the caption before forwarding the message. Users can forward both received messages and ones they have sent to others without needing to retype the caption.
Currently only available for select beta testers on Android, the feature could eventually make it to beta users on iOS before being available on the stable channel, which is when most WhatsApp users will be able to use the feature.
