WhatsApp is reportedly planning to add themed icons with future updates on Android smartphones. WABetaInfo has reported that the company has already started testing the themed icon feature with a select group of testers running the Android 13 operating system.
According to the report, the company has added a monochromatic app icon for devices running the Android 13 operating system. The new app icon is capable of adapting to the theme or wallpaper as a part of Android’s themed icon feature.
WABetaInfo has also shared the screenshots which clearly show the new monochromatic icon of the WhatsApp app. For those who don’t know, the WhatsApp icon on Android currently does not adapt to the theme unless you change it manually.

The screenshot also shows that the icon is in-line with other app icons with the tinted Green colour.
The new themed icon is currently available to beta testers running the Android 13 operating system and it is available with the latest beta version of the app. Also, we are currently not sure by when WhatsApp will roll out the feature in the stable version.
For those unaware, WhatsApp is also testing a new undo delete feature where it allows users to undo deleted messages for a certain interval of time.
