WhatsApp’s new feature will make it easier for you to shop – Times of India

WhatApp has reportedly started to roll out a new feature called ‘Collections’. The feature will allow you to shop items from the messaging platform using categories. In simple words, the feature allows business account holders to organise products in their catalogs according to the category so users can easily find the desired item without scrolling through the long list of items.
If you have a WhatsApp business account, you can create a collection by following these steps. Tap on the three dots at the top right corner of the app > tap on Business Tools > select Catalog > tap on Add New Collection.
The ‘Catalogs’ feature was first rolled out by the company in 2019. It allows businesses to display the products and services they offer to potential customers. The feature enables businesses to get a mobile storefront without creating a separate web page. To further boost the ecommerce on the platform, the company released ‘Carts’ feature that makes it easier for customers to buy multiple items.
The platform has also released a new Android beta 2.21.22.3 that reportedly adds a new control bar in picture-in-picture video. According to a report by WABetainfo, the control bar will now let users to quickly pause or resume a video. It will also allow users to open or close full-screen mode. Currently, the control bar only works on videos that are shared from other selected platforms but the platform will reportedly enable it for all videos.
The company is also reportedly working on new voice notes feature that will allow you to pause and continue to record a voice note without the need to record another message or send the one that you may have to interrupt. As of now, you can only listen to the voice message you recorded before sending it.
