Who is C418? The German Composer Behind Minecraft, the World’s Most Popular Video Game

With news about the upcoming Minecraft movie, the mentions of the game have sky-rocketed. Minecraft has managed to remain at the top of the table since its inception and players from all around the world are heavily immersed in this game. One of the major contributors to success of the game is C418 as he is responsible for the composing the Minecraft soundtracks.

The difference between a good game and a great game can often be the sound effects and soundtracks used by the game. The better these are, the more immersed the players are into the game. C418, goes by the name Daniel Rosenfeld in the real world and C418 in the online music community. This German composer is responsible for the sound design and original soundtracks of Minecraft. He is also known for writing and producing the Beyond Stranger Things Theme.

C418 has been a part of this project since the inception of Minecraft and has worked closely with Markus Persson to create the behemoth that Minecraft is today. According to a report by Lifewire, Daniel Rosenfeld was provided with complete creative freedom to come with the sound effects and sound tracks for the game.

C418 has also released to Minecraft Albums to date, Minecraft – Volume Alpha and Minecraft – Volume Beta. Volume Alpha had a physical release, and also a vinyl release, which something that is very hard to find nowadays. The Volume Beta was just a digital release. Both of these albums consist of all the work that he has done in the game and these albums have been applauded by millions of players of the game. Volume Alpha had 24 tracks on it and Volume Beta had 30 tracks on it, with some bonus soundtracks.

In other works, as mentioned before, he was responsible for writing and producing the Beyond Stranger Things Theme. He has also collaborated with famous music producer, ‘deadmau5’ to create a song in his album. The song is called ‘mau5cave’ and it was released in C418’s ‘Seven Years of Server Data’ Album.
