Wimbledon 2021: Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna beat Emily Webley-Smith and Aidan McHugh to enter Round 3
Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna progress to mixed doubles third round after beating British pairing of Emily Webley-Smith and Aidan McHugh 6-3, 6-1 in straight sets. The Indian pair will now lock horns with the pair Jean-Julien Rojer and Andreja Klepac in the third round.

Indian pair of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna progressed into mixed doubles third round after beating British pairing of Emily Webley-Smith and Aidan McHugh 6-3, 6-1 in straight sets.
It was an easy outing for the Indian pair as they won the opening set comfortably by 6-3. In the second set, they ran over the British pair and stormed into the next round.
Bopanna was clearly the best player on the court with his powerful serve and solid ground strokes from the baseline as well as the ability to execute a superior net game. Mirza’s serve is still not at its best and would improve as she plays more matches.
The Indian pair will now lock horns with Jean-Julien Rojer and Andreja Klepac in the third round.
In the first round, the unseeded duo of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna registered a straight sets win over fellow Indians Ankita Raina and Ramkumar Ramanathan. Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna registered a hard-fought 6-2, 7-6 win over Ankita Raina and Ramkumar Ramanathan.
Earlier today, Sania Mirza’s campaign in women’s doubles came to an end on Saturday as she and her American partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands lost their second-round match in straight sets to Elena Vesnina and Veronika Kudermetova. Sania Mirza and Bethanie Mattek-Sands lost the match by 4-6, 3-6.Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan are already out, having lost their men’s doubles opening round match.
