Witcher 3 Next-Gen Patch 4.01 Issues Are Being Investigated
CD Projekt Red has confirmed it is now working on multiple patches for the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and is currently investigating problems following the release of patch 4.01.
Patch 4.01 was released earlier this month for current-gen consoles and PC and introduced a variety of new improvements, mainly focused on overall stability and performance, while also adding a new performance mode for ray-traced global illumination, and more.
The developer has since shared an update on what it plans on addressing with future patches and is currently looking into reported issues from players. “Following Patch 4.01, we wanted to take a moment to talk about some of the issues the team is currently working on and to give a better understanding of what’s ahead,” CD Projekt Red said in a new forum post. “We are working on patches for the game and investigating all the reports you’re sending our way–please keep them coming!”
One glaring issue is bad performance on next-gen consoles following the release of 4.01, with players reporting a noticeable decrease in frame rate while in performance mode, and it’s especially noticeable in areas like Novigrad and Beauclair.
Alongside some general system issues the developer is looking into, it also explained the Battle Preparations quest that was meant to be fixed with 4.01 still isn’t resolved and it’s working on a patch, saying, “We are aware that some players who experienced an issue where it could be impossible to interact with Avallac’h before patch 4.01, may now experience an issue where there are no dialogue options that can progress the quest after the fix. We’re working on the underlying cause and steps to reproduce it.”
