Witcher: CD Projekt Red Restarts Development for Multiplayer Title Called ‘Project Sirius’

The Witcher is a series that has struck the hearts of many players. The series reached its highest point with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as it was also announced as the Game of the Year when it released. On top of that, the Netflix adaption of the series has added much to its popularity, too. Most recently, we were also graced with a next-gen upgrade for the latest title in the series.

Other than the next-gen upgrade for the title, there were also talks about a multiplayer reboot for the game in the works. The talks about a multiplayer Witcher title called Project Sirius surfaced online during the end of 2022. However, those talks died down soon as it seemed that this project was no longer in development. But, that does not seem to be the case anymore as Project Sirius has just been confirmed by CDPR.

CD Projekt Red has just made a regulatory announcement, and their current report 8/2023 talks about this multiplayer project. The report talks about the expenses incurred in 2022 and the start of 2023 by Project Sirius, which is currently in development at The Molasses Flood Studio. It seems that the team has spent over $7 million in development in 2022 and $2 million since the start of 2023 on Project Sirius, the multiplayer Witcher title.
