Wolverine Will Battle the Predator in New Marvel Series
After decades of Alien vs. Predator stories, the iconic alien hunters have set their sights on a new target – Wolverine. Marvel’s most popular X-Man will battle the Predator in a new limited series this fall.
Predator vs. Wolverine is a four-issue series from Wolverine writer Benjamin Percy and a rotating lineup of artists that includes Greg Land, Andrea Di Vito, Ken Lashley and Kei Zama. Check out artist Marco Checchetto’s cover to issue #1 below:
The new series is set over the course of many decades of Wolverine’s long life, tracing an ongoing feud between the mutant loner and a Yautja who has set its sights on the universe’s most dangerous prey. With each new encounter, the two combatants become more battle-hardened and deadly. The series will explore key periods from Logan’s apst, including his days as Weapon X’s test subject and his time in Madripoor.
“I’m not going to say I was born to write this crossover… but sometimes the universe reveals why you were created,” Percy said in Marvel’s press release. “I am a child of the eighties. I cannot tell you how many times I watched Predator, just as I cannot tell you how many Wolverine comics I have read, because that would be like telling you how many breaths I’ve taken or cheeseburgers I’ve eaten.”
“This epic hunt will span decades, as both of these giants learn and harden and grow deadlier with time,” Percy added. “Neither will have time to bleed, but you better make time to read, because I’m putting everything I’ve got into this event, and I’m thrilled to join forces with some of the best artists in the business.”
This new series comes roughly a year after Marvel first teased the idea of pitting its heroes against the Predator with a series of crossover variant covers. Does this mean Alien vs. Punisher isn’t far behind?
Predator vs. Wolverine #1 will be released on September 20, 2023.
