‘World’s most popular’ gaming console now costs more – Times of India

Sony has already increased the price of its PlayStation 5 gaming consoles in several markets. However, it delayed the India price hike. Now, it looks like the company has quietly increased the price of the gaming console by up to 12.5 per cent. The price hike is applicable on both PS5 Digital Edition and Disc Edition. Also, the new price of the gaming consoles is live on the Sony Centre website ShopATSC.
Sony PlayStation 5 price increased: New price and more
Sony launched the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition at Rs 39,999 and Disc Edition at Rs 49,990. After the price increase, the Digital Edition now costs Rs 54,990 and Disc Edition is listed at Rs 44,990 on Sony’s official website.
It is worth noting that, Amazon and Flipkart currently show the older price, however, the consoles are out of stock and it is possible that the prices will get updated once the new stock arrives.
Also, the price hike does not affect the accessories. This means, all the accessories including PS5 DualSense control, Pulse 3D headphones, etc costs the same. Here’s the current price of PS5 accessories:
Sony PS5 DualSense controller: Rs 5,590
Sony Pulse 3D headset: Rs 7,890
PS5 HD camera: Rs 4,790
PS5 Media Remote: Rs 2,590
Meanwhile, India isn’t the only market where Sony has increased the price of PS5. Sony has increased the price of the consoles in several other markets.

The PlayStation 5 features a new dual-tone Black and White design with Blue LED lights surrounding the air vents. Sony has already confirmed that the console will be powered by AMD Zen 2-based processors and 10.28 TFLOPs, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz GPU. In addition to that, it will come with 16GGB DDR6 RAM and a custom 825GB SSD for faster loading speed.
