xbox: Microsoft working on letting TV remotes control Xbox: Report – Times of India

Microsoft i working on a n working on a new feature that will allow the Xbox Series X|S gaming consoles to be controlled by a TV remote, as per a report by The Verge. The report says that a new version of the Xbox dashboard for the next-gen consoles is currently being tested with Xbox Insiders using the new HDMI-CEC features. This should help with using a TV remote with the Xbox in case you just want to watch some streaming content. Also, the new feature should come in handy with easier switching of input to your Xbox by just pressing the Xbox button on a controller.
By going to the HDMI-CEC settings in the Xbox dashboard, you will be able to access the options. They are reportedly available to testers in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha Xbox Insider rings for now. The report adds that the new features are expected to be rolled out worldwide in the coming months.
This September, the Xbox Game Pass has already added six new titles of which three are new. The new titles are Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII Signs of the Sojourner and Surgeon Simulator 2. While the first will be available on console and PC, the other two will be available on Cloud too, apart from being there on console and PC. The remaining three titles are Quake, Quake II and Quake III Arena. While Quake is available across console, PC and Cloud, the remaining two are available on PC.
