While nothing substantial has been revealed about the game over the years ever since Bethesda Game Studios began working on it, the game developer did a major game reveal at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase by showcasing the gameplay.
Starfield is a space RPG and is the first new universe in 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios. As per Bethesda, “In this next-generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.”

As per the developers, the game will feature an “epic story” full of “rich characters”. You would be able to explore “hundreds of planets” in the game. As per game director Todd Howard, there are “over a hundred systems, over 1,000 planets, all open for you to visit.”
The year is 2330. You play as a space explorer in the game, after having joined the last group of space explorers who call themselves The Constellation. Your quest is to seek out rare artefacts throughout the galaxy.

Build, upgrade and indulge in space combat
You can build outposts on discovered planets to conduct research and gather resources. The resources can be utilised to improve your weapons and gear. You will have your own spaceship which can be customised and upgraded. Real time space combat is also a part of the game.
Starfield had a planned release date of November 11, 2022, but now, the developers have pushed the release to 2023. The game will launch exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
