Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro launched in China: Specifications, pricing and more – Times of India

Xiaomi has refreshed its flagship series with new processors and Leica-tuned camera setups – the Xiaomi 12S – including the Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro and Xiaomi 12S Ultra – in China. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is a top-end variant successor to last year’s Mi 11 Ultra; the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro are the refreshed variants of Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro launched earlier this year.
Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12 Pro: Price, availability
The Xiaomi 12S comes at a starting price of CNY 3,999 (~Rs 47,194) while the Xiaomi 12S Pro has a starting price of CNY 4,699 (~Rs 55,408). The Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro will be available in three colours – black, white and green.

Xiaomi 12S features a 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12S Pro comes with a larger 6.73-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display on both the 12S models has a centred punch-hole cutout housing the front-facing camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, the AMOLED panel on the Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro supports 1 billion colours, 1500 nits of peak brightness and comes with Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12S is powered by the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The smartphone boasts a 4,500mAh battery with support for 67W fast wired charging.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12S Pro comes in two variants – one powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and the second with the Dimensity 9000+ chipset. Both the variants will have up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. Further, the Xiaomi 12S Pro comes with a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging support.
The two Xiaomi 12S smartphones come with Harmon Kardon tuned dual speakers.
The Xiaomi 12S comes with a triple camera setup led by a 50MP Sony IMX707 1/1.28-inch sensor. The main sensor is accompanied by a 13MP ultrawide snapper and a 5MP tele-macro camera. On the front, it has a 32MP camera for selfies.
The bigger Xiaomi 12S Pro features a triple 50MP camera setup as its predecessor but the main camera is now the 1/1.28-inch Sony IMX707 50MP camera. The other two cameras are a pair of 50MP ultrawide and telephoto cameras. The camera setup on the Xiaomi 12S Pro is tuned by the German imaging company Leica.
The new Xiaomi 12S models offer two photography modes – Leica Vibrant and Leica Authentic – co-developed with Leica.
