Xiaomi 12T: The India model may come with Dimensity chipset and other likely pricing – Times of India
Xiaomi unveiled its latest 12 series smartphones at an event in China on July 4. The new phones include Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro, 12 Pro Dimensity edition, and 12S Ultra. It is so far not clear which of these phones will come to India. According to a report in GizmoChina, the company may launch the Xiaomi 12T lineup, which may include a vanilla model and a Pro variant. The report quotes tipster Kacper Skrzypek.
Skrzypek has tipped the name of the processor that will power the Xiaomi 12T model. The Xiaomi 12T lineup is said to include two phones, with codenames ‘Plato’ and ‘Diting’. Of these the former is reported to debut with the Xiaomi 12T branding, while the latter may carry the Xiaomi 12T Pro name. The Xiaomi 12T series is likely to launch in India later this year.
Xiaomi 12T likely processor
Reports suggest that the Xiaomi 12T series may have a limited debut. The phones may launch in select markets, including India. The 12T is likely to feature a MediaTek Dimensity SoC. According to Skrzypek, the Xiaomi 12T will run on Dimensity 8100-Ultra chipset. This may make the smartphone the first device to run on MediaTek’s Ultra chipset as the company so far has not announced it. There are also speculations that Dimensity 8100-Ultra chipset may come with some custom-tuning like the Dimensity 8100-Max which runs on Realme GT Neo 3. OnePlus’ first smartphone of the year 2022 in India, OnePlus 10R, too runs on Mediatek’s Dimensity 8100 chipset.

Xiaomi 12T likely price
This also means that the Xiaomi 12T series phones will take on OnePlus 10 R, Samsung Galaxy A73 and other such affordable premium phones. It is also quite likely that Xiaomi prices it below Rs 40,000 to take on the OnePlus 10R, a popular phone in the category. The Xiaomi 12T Pro may be priced slightly higher.
Incidentally, this will not be the first time that Xiaomi will not launch its entire lineup of flagship phones in India.
