Xiaomi 13 series, iQoo 11 launch events postponed in China, here’s why – Times of India
While the official reason hasn’t been revealed, several reports suggest that the launch has been delayed because of the death of Jiang Zemin, former president of the People’s Republic of China. In a statement, the Chinese Communist Party said Zemin died of leukaemia and multiple organ failure. Zemin was 96.
Xiaomi not the only brand to postpone launch
Another smartphone brand — iQoo — was expected to launch the iQoo 11 series on December 2. Like Xiaomi, iQoo too has confirmed that the launch event has been postponed. The Chinese smartphone maker took to Weibo to make the announcement. “We regret to inform you that the new product launches of the iQOO 11 series and iQOO Neo7 SE will be postponed. We will notify you as soon as the new release date is confirmed. Thank you for your understanding and support,” read the post by iQoo on Weibo.
In the case of iQoo, the brand was expected to launch the iQoo 11 series in Malaysia as well It’s not clear whether the company will go ahead with the Malaysia launch of the phone or not.
For Xiaomi, it was the last big launch of 2022 and it was expected to unveil three new smartphones, including its flagship smartphone for 2023. The phones will certainly arrive but just on December 2 as it was announced.
