Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 might come with stylus support & 8 Gen 1 SoC; Mix Flip is in the works too – Smartprix

Foldable smartphones are an in-thing these days and thus more and more companies are venturing into this arena trying to beat each other in specs and features. After Samsung and Oppo, Xiaomi is the third big name that is working on its foldable smartphone named the MIX Fold 2.

Tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the upcoming Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 might be the successor to the MIX Fold that was launched in China last year. Also, the Xiaomi Flip smartphone is under work too.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 leaked specs

According to the tipster, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will have an 8-inch AMOLED display with 2.5K resolution and might support a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and have a 5000mAh battery with a 108MP camera module.

A few days ago a patent from Xiaomi was spotted which suggested a foldable smartphone with stylus support. The patent is most likely Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. The display size makes it’s a mini-tablet and stylus support will put it in competition with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Apple iPad Pro.

Reports about a Flip smartphone from Xiaomi are also surfacing now and then. Last year, a patent was seen at WIPO that revealed a flip smartphone with a folding mechanism similar to Galaxy Flip 3.

The patent showed a pilled shared cutout for dual front cameras at the front. The images also reveal a dual-camera setup with a LED flash at the back. A square cutout beside the camera module can be seen too that can be a secondary display to access notification, time, and camera.

Mi MIX Fold also already made its debut this year and now there are reports of more foldable smartphones from Xiaomi. The next foldable one will come with a front folding screen, regular screen configuration, and a better hinge design.
