xiaomi: Xiaomi 12 tipped to launch on this date, may feature 100W fast charging – Times of India

Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to launch the Xiaomi 12 series next month (December). Now, a report by Chinese publications MyDrivers suggests that the company will launch the Xiaomi 12 smartphone on December 12. The report further suggests that the phone will be the company’s flagship device and it will be powered by the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It is expected that Qualcomm will unveil the new chipset at its annual tech summit which is a few days before the tipped launch.
According to previous leaks on the Chinese microblogging website, Weibo, the smartphone will sport a triple camera setup at the rear with 50MP primary rear camera customized from Samsung or Sony along with an ultra-wide angle paired with a periscopic and a telephoto lens. At the front, the device is rumoured to come with an under-display camera for selfies and video calls. As per previous reports,the smartphone will come with a 100watt fast charging feature.
Numerous reports suggest that Xiaomi 12 series may consist of three phones — Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 Ultra. As per a report by Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi has partnered with camera company Leica for its branding on Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The handset is said to come with a curved 2K display and may offer a refresh rate of 120Hz. The smartphone is said to offer up to 16GB RAM and may have up to 1TB of onboard storage.
Rumours suggest that the company may offer Xiaomi 12 Mini under the series. Alleged poster of the device has leaked online. It is tipped to have a 6.28-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and may offer a refresh rate of 120Hz and 480Hz touch response.
The handset is rumoured to offer 1500 nits peak brightness and it may support HDR10+. Xiaomi 12 Mini may come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 octa-core processor along with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM.
