In 2021, Zitro set itself the ambitious goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 80%. The company has not only achieved this target but exceeded it by achieving a further 50% reduction by 2022. This reduction has been made possible by investing in the renewal of all IT equipment to make its offices more efficient and environmentally friendly. Zitro’s commitment to sustainability is not limited to reducing its carbon footprint. The company has also made a major effort to switch to renewable energies. 100% of the electricity consumption at the Barcelona technology campus now comes from renewable sources.

The company’s achievement of the ISO 14064-1 certification sets a new benchmark in the gaming industry for sustainability and environmental responsibility. Zitro’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and switching to renewable energy sources is a significant step towards a more sustainable future.

Johnny Viveiros Ortiz, Founder of Zitro, commented, “We are proud to have achieved the ISO 14064-1 certification. This is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment. We will continue to invest in sustainable practices to ensure that we meet our goals and lead by example in the industry”.
