Zoom is bringing attendance status, chat flexibility and these new features – Times of India
Ahead of the holiday season, video conferencing tool Zoom has updated its platform with a host of new features. These include enhanced slide control, ability to control polls, attendance status, chat flexibility and more.
With the enhanced slide control, users can now select multiple people to control the movement of slides in a presentation. This means that presenters no longer have to ask another attendee to move the presentation forward. Zoom has also added more options for creating polls like ranked responses, matching, short and long answers, and fill in the blanks. The company says that the same functionality can also be used for quizzes, onboarding sessions, or lunch-and-learn events.
Zoom users can also set the size and placements of watermarks on their recorded content. One can enable watermarks by default and customize them via the web portal prior to the meeting. Another feature introduced by Zoom recently is the attendance status, which allows meeting hosts and co-hosts with Google and Outlook calendar integrations to view who has accepted or declined the meeting invite and see whether they have joined.
Talking about the corporate matching for fundraising efforts on Zoom events, the company said that the experience has moved ‘to the next level by offering corporate matching on donations during fundraisers through Pledge’.
Another feature added is the ability to create networking moments within an event by giving hosts and moderators the ability to turn chat on and off at any time. This helps create discussion and drive engagement at critical moments. On the accessibility front, Zoom now supports third-party closed captioning API within Zoom Events. If needed, closed captioning can be turned on or off by the host.
