100W SuperCharge adaptor for Honor 50 Pro+ spotted online | Digit

Honor is expected to stage its grand global comeback with the Honor 50 series phones in the coming weeks. The series will reportedly include three phones, namely the Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro, and Honor 50 Pro+. Of the trio, the flagship Honor 50 Pro+ will reportedly support 100W fast charging. Now an image of its 100W charging adaptor has allegedly surfaced online.

The adaptor, as shown above, is not a USB-C to USB-C  Power Delivery charger. So it is possible that ‘Honor SuperCharge’ is likely a proprietary solution that splits the battery into two halves – just as many high wattage proprietary solutions do.

A reliable leakster from China claims that the 100W charger won’t have to be purchased separately, and will be bundled in the box. The other two lower models will instead get 66W fast charging.

100W chargers still aren’t as wide-spread in use, but they are slowly gaining ground. 120W charging has already debuted on phones like Mi 10 Ultra and iQOO 7 in China, but we are yet to see 100W+ charging phones in India.

The Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro will be powered by the recently launched Snapdragon 778G octa-core chipset, while the Honor 50 Pro+ is likely to get the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 888. The most interesting bit is that these will be the first set of Honor phones after US-imposed sanctions to debut with Google Apps pre-installed.

Huawei’s smartphone division took quite a hit after it was placed on Export Entity List by the U.S. government. To make up for the losses, the company sold its Honor sub-brand to a consortium of agents and deals. As an independent brand, Honor has managed to regain license for Google Mobile Services. It has also renewed its ties with other key U.S. companies like Qualcomm, Intel, Microsoft, and AMD.
