Emma Raducanu’s US Open final may well clash with Match of the Day on Saturday night and Marcus Rashford definitely doesn’t want that to be the case. It’s been a jam-packed day of sport to start the weekend, beginning with the return of the Premier League after the international break.
The biggest headline match of the day was always going to be Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinted the 36-year-old icon may not start earlier in the week, but the striker inevitably did play from the first minute.
But with the game being scheduled for 3pm, the match wasn’t shown live on TV and fans not inside the stadium were unable to watch Ronaldo’s second debut.
Even prior to the match, interest in watching the highlight would have been huge, but Ronaldo’s performance has made it even more popular this evening.
