Is Kadarius Toney playing on Monday night? Fantasy injury update for Giants-Chiefs Week 8 Monday Night Football

Kadarius Toney took advantage of the banged-up Giants receiving corps and burst onto the fantasy scene a few weeks ago, but after joining several of his fellow pass-catchers on the injury report, he missed last week and is “questionable” heading into Monday Night Football against the Chiefs. Given the favorable matchup and Toney’s explosive ability, plenty of fantasy football owners will wait to make their final start ’em, sit ’em decision of Week 8 until they see if Toney is playing, and we’ll be here to help with the latest injury updates.

We’ll continue to update this article with news on Toney up until the official active/inactive report comes out on Monday around 6:45 p.m. ET. For all the latest fantasy updates, follow us on Twitter @SN_Fantasy.

Is Kadarius Toney playing on Monday night?

Toney (ankle) exited Week 6 early an d missed Week 7, but after returning to practice on Friday and Saturday, he’s “questionable” for Monday night’s game in Kansas City. Giants coach Joe Judge said on Thursday that Toney was making “good progress,” but he also said that about Kenny Golladay (knee), who didn’t practice and has already been ruled out.

WEEK 8 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Toney had caught fire prior to his injury, but it’s tough to know if that was simply a result of New York’s other WR injuries or if it’s a trend that’s going to continue now that Darius Slayton is back and Sterling Shepard (hamstring) might return. With Golladay out, Toney is still likely to be on the field often, and if he is, that should mean he’ll get opportunities.

WEEK 8 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Against a Chiefs’ defense allowing 404 total yards and 29 points per game, Toney is in a good spot to at least produce flex-worthy numbers. However, given that he looks like a legit game-time decision, it’s tough to wait for him. If you do, make sure you have Slayton, Evan Engram, or Mecole Hardman ready to sub into your flex spot in case Toney is out. If you’re in a deeper league, you might need to grab Dante Pettis, Byron Pringle, or Demarcus Robinson.

WEEK 8 FANTASY: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em

If Toney is active, he should be a popular DFS play. Often, people will put together their lineups early in the day and avoid “questionable” players, so it’s possible he’s lower owned than he should be.
