Indian Cricket Legend MS Dhoni Is A Big Gamer, Suresh Raina Shares Some Interesting Insights

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is considered one of the biggest names in the sport of cricket, is a huge gamer according to former teammate Suresh Raina.

Dhoni is well-known for liking bikes, but his video game hobby is something that only his biggest fans probably know about.

While appearing on an episode of the My Time With Dhoni web series, Raina told Jio Cinema that the former Indian cricket team captain is a gamer and tries to play games as much as he can whenever he gets breaks. So much so that Raina would have to wait a few minutes for Dhoni to finish up his gaming sessions so that they could go to dinner together.

“Game bahot khelte hai who. Jab bhi dinner karna hai ‘Dhoni bhai chalo yaar,’ ‘Arey 10 minute ruk jao, goli maar du fir chalte hai.’” (“He games a lot,” Raina said. “Whenever we had to go for dinner, we had to ask Dhoni to come with us [because he would be busy gaming]. ‘Just wait for ten minutes, let me shoot some bullets and then we will go.’”)

Raina would sometimes even get irritated by how much Dhoni made him wait for him to finish playing his games.

“Kabhi kabhi toh irritating lagta hai par theek hai, 10-15 minute wait kar lenge.” (“Sometimes it was a bit irritating, but it was alright, and we would wait for ten to fifteen minutes,” said Raina.)

He also recalled some regular things Dhoni would say while gaming, such as: “Arey nahi, abhi goli chala raha hu ruk jao. Maarne hi wala hu mai usko abhi bas. Ye helicopter se peeche se aaye hai.” (“Just hold on, I am going to shoot him,” and “They’re coming in a helicopter from behind!”)

Raina called him a very “sorted” man and someone who lives a stress-free life in the present.

Dhoni used to sleep-talk about PUBG

Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Dhoni, has also talked in the past about how much of a gamer the cricketer is. “Mahi’s got a thinking brain, it doesn’t rest. So, I think when he plays video games like Call of Duty or PUBG, they help him divert his mind.”

Apparently, Dhoni was such a hardcore PUBG player that he would even talk about the game in his sleep.

“Nowadays, PUBG has encroached my bed. At times, I feel he’s talking to me, but he’s with his headphones on talking to his teammates in the game. Then he’s sleep-talking also about PUBG nowadays,” she recalled.
