Oppenheimer vs Barbie: Matt Damon Addresses Debate Between Upcoming Movies

The Internet has been debating over Oppenheimer and Barbie for quite a while now. Matt Damon was asked about his thoughts on the whole Oppenheimer vs. Barbie situation, and he said that he hadn’t heard about it. For those unaware, the internet has been divided between Oppenheimer and Barbie about which movie they will go and watch, as they are both releasing on July 21.

The internet rages on, but Matt Damon has a pretty good solution to end this social media debate. “This is the first I’m hearing about it, actually. I haven’t paid any attention to that… People are allowed to go see two movies in a weekend. ‘Oppenheimer’ is one of them!” he told Vanity Fair.

That would be a straightforward solution for those interested in watching both movies. Viewers going for both movies will spend a lot of time in the theatres that week, as Barbie’s runtime is at a standard 1 hour 40 minutes, while Oppenheimer has a runtime of almost 3 hours.

Nolan told Total Film (via GamesRadar) that Oppenheimer has the longest runtime among all his work so far. He said, “It’s slightly longer than the longest we’ve done. It’s kissing three hours.” In that sense, the movie will be longer than Interstellar, which had a run time of 2 hours and 49 minutes.

Matt Damon stars in Christopher Nolan’s next movie Oppenheimer, which is a biopic on physicist J Robert Oppenheimer, who is known as the “father of the atomic bomb” for his role in the Manhattan Project. Oppenheimer is set to be an intense and enthralling watch for those picking the movie on that particular weekend. On the other hand, we have the opposite in Barbie, which appears to be much more laid-back, cheerful and wholesome.
